New Technical Partnership, CTO

Torrey Path, Inc., a leading-edge biological data and biodata solutions developer, announced today that it has formed a technical partnership with the John McNeil and Company, Inc., makers of the LabSynch Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and provider of related custom development services.

Under the terms of the agreement, the partners will cooperate to develop technologies that extend the biodata products and services of Torrey Path, including Torrey Path’s Content Packs and its upcoming release of the VivoConnect data delivery service.

Also as a result of the agreement, Mr. John McNeil will fill the role of Chief Technology Officer at Torrey Path. Mr. McNeil has worked for over twenty years various IT leadership roles in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and other high-tech industries. Prior to forming and serving as McNeil & Company’s President, Mr. McNeil co-founded the Ibis Division of Isis Pharmaceuticals where he lead government business development and product management. He had previously created the bioinformatics department at Isis and served as V.P. of Informatics and a corporate officer. He had previously worked at SAIC, where he founded the Laboratory Sensors and Automation Division.

“This is a great relationship for Torrey Path and its customers,” said Peter Dresslar, Founder and CEO of Torrey Path, “since it not only strengthens our technical capabilities for development and integration projects, but also allows us to rapidly marshal consulting resources for customers seeking biodata integration at the enterprise level. It also allows us to supply new data capabilities for LabSynch. Customers using our combined solutions will be able to manage, integrate, and explore their experimental data from the lab bench all the way to the boardroom.”

“We are looking forward to developing some great new technologies for publishing and delivering experimental information together with Torrey Path,” said McNeil, “and we expect great benefits for our LabSynch customers in the future as well.”
